Paper Theatre Project
Project Description
Since ancient times, communities worldwide have created and shared their cultural identity through storytelling. As part of rituals, storytelling conveyed words, images, symbols, dance, music, and metaphors bringing meaning and healing to life’s challenges.
Paper theatre Project for the Latino Community participated in the same tradition and invited the participants to cross the art disciplinary borders and display their creativity. Using simple art materials, everybody designed and performed unique stories combining the role of authors and witnesses.
Developed in two sessions and a final exhibition, the paper theatres created by the participants allowed their untold stories to reclaim a voice and speak.
